Bentley awarded as FOCUS Top Midsize Employer 2021

Kununu is the largest and best-known employer review platform in the German-speaking world. Employees, trainees, and applicants have the opportunity to rate companies in a wide range of areas and communicate their impressions transparently to outsiders. The rating scale ranges from 0 to 5 stars and is supplemented by a percentage recommendation rate.

Together with FOCUS Business magazine, kununu presents the annual FOCUS Top Employer "Arbeitgeber Mittelstand" (SME) award. More than 950,000 companies and over four million reviews are analyzed. To qualify for the award, the company's average rating must not be below 3.5 out of 5 possible stars and the recommendation rate must be at least 70%. Only companies based in Germany are considered. The following criteria are used for the evaluation: company size, score and number of reviews, and recommendation rate.

With a ranking of 4.5 out of 5 possible stars and a recommendation rate of an incredible 100%, Bentley secured the FOCUS Top Employer SME award and further enhanced its reputation as a popular employer in the region. Even though Bentley ranks fourth in the Germany-wide ranking in the medical technology sector, the Hechingen-based company can certainly call itself a winner. In terms of company size category M (51-200 employees), Bentley secured first place, leaving the competition behind.

This is an important award for the company, which was only founded in 2009 and has since grown out of its infancy to become an established medium-sized enterprise. Based in Hechingen, the stent manufacturer is located right next door to many other successful medical technology companies. "Due to our rural location and the competition right on our doorstep, it is not always easy to recruit suitable personnel. We are convinced that this award and the unfiltered insights it provides are very valuable for potential applicants in forming an initial impression of the company. The kununu reviews often come up during the interview. I notice that applicants have already developed a feel for our corporate culture in advance and have an idea of how we stand out from other companies," says Kirsten Laupp, Head of Human Resources at Bentley.

Bentley's corporate culture is characterized by a cross-departmental sense of unity and cooperation. And despite strong growth to almost 200 employees, the stent manufacturer has managed to maintain its appreciative corporate culture. Appreciative behavior here means, among other things, that the assessments and opinions of employees are welcome and actively sought. The fact that employers and employees actually live this and respect each other is demonstrated by the kununu recommendation rate of 100%.

The Top Employer award proves that Bentley is on the right track, and it is not the only award Bentley has received from FOCUS Business magazine this year. In October, the company received the FOCUS Growth Champion 2021 award. With an average annual growth rate of 44% (2016-2019), the company was able to continue its strong annual growth of 45% (2015-2018) from the previous three years almost unchanged. As in the previous year, Bentley was thus one of the fastest-growing companies in Germany.
